These terms are an agreement between you and Daniel Bobunov, an independent developer in New Jersey, USA, who publishes under the name Oversauced ("we", "us"), the maker of Relix. By using Relix you accept them. Please also read our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Relix.
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer law where you live.
At a glance
- 14 or older. Users aged 14 to 17 need a parent's or guardian's permission.
- Blocking uses Apple's Screen Time, which Relix does not control. Relix does not promise that blocking will always work.
- Pro never changes rewards. Relics are earned by focusing; you can't buy them.
- Cancel through Apple. Deleting Relix does not cancel your subscription.
- Hard Mode always has an Emergency exit. It is never removed, never zero and never sold.
- Refunds for App Store purchases go through Apple.
1Who can use Relix
- You must be 14 or older. Relix will confirm this before setup and does not admit anyone under 14.
- If you are 14 to 17, you need a parent's or guardian's permission to use Relix and to accept these terms, and purchases may need their approval through Apple (Ask to Buy) or consent required by your state. Relix gives users aged 14–17 extra protections (sections 5, 6 and 8).
- Relix is for personal, voluntary use on a device you own or control. You may not use it to manage or monitor another person's device. It is not for schools, employers or other organisations.
2What Relix is, and what it is not
Relix helps you focus. It uses Apple's Screen Time tools to block apps you choose, and it rewards completed focus sessions under published rules.
Relix is not:
- a medical device or a treatment for any condition, including ADHD or addiction;
- a safety device or a way to keep anyone safe;
- a parental-control app.
Blocking depends on Apple's Screen Time system, which Relix does not control. Apple says its system does not guarantee that the settings an app asks for will always apply. Blocking can fail, start late or stop early, for example after an iOS update or if Screen Time access is turned off. Relix does not promise that blocking will always work.
3Free and Pro
Free, for everyone: blocking in Gentle, Normal, Firm and Deep modes; earn-backs; up to three schedules; the full relic economy (36 designs, the Ember Ladder, engravings and keepsakes) under the same rules for everyone; streaks; seven-day insights; your records and provenance; backup and basic export; one soundscape (brown noise).
Relix Pro adds, as one bundle: Hard Mode; allow-only lists ("block everything except..."); schedules beyond three, up to the number Relix can run at once on iOS (it keeps room free for your focus sessions) and within the Hard Mode limits in section 6.2; full searchable history with projects, templates, tags and a weekly review (CSV export of your own history is free for everyone); long-range insights; and five more soundscapes.
Pro never changes rewards. Paying does not change odds, tiers, essence, the Ember Ladder, reward slots, streaks, Emergency exits or anything else about relics.
A feature removed before launch is not part of Pro. After launch, we will not move a free feature into Pro.
4Purchases and subscriptions
4.1 Plans and prices
| Plan | US list price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly | $9.99 per month | Renews every month |
| Annual | $49.99 per year | 7-day free trial if you are eligible |
| Lifetime | $249.99 once | One payment, no renewal |
These are the US list prices. Prices in other countries are set in the App Store and shown in your local currency, including any taxes the App Store adds. The price Apple shows when you purchase is the price you pay.
4.2 Billing is by Apple
All purchases are made through the Apple App Store and charged to your Apple account. Apple's Media Services Terms also apply. We never see your card or other payment details.
4.3 Auto-renewal
- Monthly and Annual are auto-renewing subscriptions.
- Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your Apple account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- If you accepted a discount, the renewal price after the discount ends was shown when you accepted it (section 5).
- When list prices rise, we will keep existing subscribers' renewal prices, except where a discount you accepted ends as disclosed. Apple's confirmation shows the terms that apply to you.
4.4 How to cancel
You cancel through Apple. Relix cannot cancel for you.
- On your iPhone: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Relix → Cancel Subscription. Relix will also link to Apple's subscription-management screen from Settings → Plans. Cancellation is completed in Apple's screen.
- Apple's screens show when your access ends and when you would otherwise be charged.
- Deleting Relix does not cancel your subscription.
4.5 Free trial
- The Annual plan includes a 7-day free trial for eligible customers. Apple decides eligibility; usually you are eligible only if you have not had a trial or introductory offer for Relix Pro before. Relix shows trial wording only after it has checked that you are eligible.
- Before you start, Relix shows how long the trial lasts and the price you pay after it, and Apple's purchase sheet confirms the terms. Once the trial starts, Relix shows the date it ends, as the App Store reports it. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends to avoid being charged the annual price; otherwise the subscription renews each year.
- If you change plans or redeem an offer during a trial or billing period, check the effect Apple shows on your remaining trial or period before you confirm.
- Relix may offer to remind you before the trial ends. The reminder is a courtesy: it depends on your notification settings and is not guaranteed.
4.6 Lifetime
- Lifetime is a one-time purchase of Pro with no renewal. You can restore it on devices signed in to the same Apple account.
- Buying Lifetime does not cancel an existing subscription. Relix will warn you and link to subscription management before you buy.
4.7 Family Sharing and Ask to Buy
The Annual and Lifetime plans are set up for Family Sharing, so you can share them with your Apple Family Sharing group. If Ask to Buy applies, your purchase waits for approval, and Relix shows it as waiting, not as failed.
4.8 Refunds
For refunds of App Store transactions, use reportaproblem.apple.com or Apple Support. You may also contact us (section 18) about a faulty or misdescribed Relix feature and any remedy you have against us under consumer law. Apple's refund process does not replace those rights.
4.9 When Pro ends
If your subscription ends or is refunded:
- you keep everything you earned: relics, essence, streak, records and basic export;
- Emergency exits keep working;
- new Pro-only activations are unavailable straight away;
- a session already running keeps its disclosed end and its free exit controls; it is not extended or silently replaced;
- before the next schedule window, Relix visibly turns off settings that need Pro and lets you choose which three schedules stay on. Your saved settings are kept.
5Offers and discounts
We may offer established adult subscribers or former subscribers a discount, for example when auto-renew is off or after a subscription has ended.
- Each offer will show its redemption deadline (a real end date), the date you will actually be charged, the discounted billing periods, the price you pay afterwards in the same sentence, and any effect on an existing trial or billing period.
- "No thanks" is as prominent as accepting, and never changes your subscription. Accepting requires confirmation in Apple's purchase sheet.
- A prominent Cancel subscription button stays beside every save offer. One tap opens Apple's subscription-management screen, where cancellation is completed, with no further Relix offer or questions.
- Offers appear no more than once every 30 days and four times a year; never during a session, on the block screen or within 10 minutes after a session; and never because of your Screen Time results, relics or streak. Eligibility is checked again before each offer is shown.
- We never show discounts or offers to users aged 14–17, or to anyone not established as 18 or older.
- Apple decides who can redeem each offer. We may change or end future offers, but we will honour an offer you have accepted.
- We never advertise a "was" price unless Relix really sold at that price.
6Blocking, Deep and Hard Mode
6.1 Ordinary blocking
You can end Gentle and Normal sessions at any time. Firm needs a 5-second hold and a confirmation. Deep can be ended in Relix after a 2-minute cool-down. Ending a focus session early after its first 60 seconds can crack that session's relic attempt; whether it does depends on the reward slot (Vault → Odds & rules). A cracked attempt gives no relic and no streak credit, and a later completed session can mend it under the published rules.
6.2 Hard Mode (Pro)
Hard Mode is an optional, stricter mode. Relix explains it and asks you to confirm before your first Hard Mode session.
- No ordinary End button. A Hard Mode session runs until its planned end, unless you use an Emergency exit.
- Emergency exits are always available in Relix. They are never removed, never zero and never sold.
- Adults: one quick exit in any rolling 168-hour (7-day) period, after a 2-minute wait. Further exits in that period each need a 30-minute wait.
- Users aged 14–17, and anyone not established as 18 or older: unlimited exits, each after a 60-second wait.
- One completed Emergency exit counts as one use, however many blocks it releases. Starting, cancelling or retrying a wait does not use another.
- An exit wait never extends your planned end.
- An exit ends all Relix blocking at once, including any schedule running at the same time. Exiting an active focus session counts as ending it early (section 6.1). Exiting a schedule-only block has no effect on relics or streaks.
- Releasing Hard Mode. At its planned end, a Hard Mode session releases its own blocking; a schedule running at the same time keeps blocking until its own end. An Emergency exit releases all Relix blocking at once.
- Limits. Continuous Hard Mode blocking is limited to 12 hours for adults and 4 hours for users aged 14–17, including back-to-back schedules.
- What Relix cannot do. You can turn off Relix's Screen Time access in iPhone Settings at any time. That ends all Relix blocking. Relix cannot stop it and does not try. Hard Mode is a commitment tool; it is not impossible to get around.
- If blocking does not release. If apps stay blocked after an exit or the planned end, open Relix. If that does not help, turn off Relix's Screen Time access in iPhone Settings, and contact us (section 18).
6.3 Emergencies and essential apps
- Relix never intentionally restricts emergency access. Emergency calls and Emergency SOS are iOS features. Hard Mode ships only after emergency-access tests pass on the supported devices and iOS versions.
- Relix provides a free Never-block list that applies to every Relix block, including categories, allow-only lists and overlapping schedules. Before you use Hard Mode, check that your essential apps (calling, messaging, health, medical, hearing, navigation) are on it. For users aged 14–17, and anyone not established as 18 or older, Relix requires this check before their first Hard Mode session.
- You are responsible for keeping access to apps you may need for your health or safety. Do not block an app you may need in an emergency, such as a glucose monitor, hearing aid, medical alert or a way to reach your family.
- If you are in danger, call your local emergency number.
7Relics, essence and other rewards
- Rewards are virtual. Relics, essence, keepsakes, engravings and streaks exist only inside Relix. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use them in the app. You do not own them as property.
- Earned, not bought. The 36 collection designs and spendable essence are earned through eligible focus sessions under the published rules. The separately labelled Origin gift you receive during setup is outside those 36 designs. You cannot buy relics, essence, rolls, odds, guarantees or streak repairs with money. Keepsakes cost earned essence only.
- No cash value. Rewards cannot be sold, traded, transferred or exchanged for money or anything else, inside or outside Relix.
- Same rules for everyone, published. Some rewards are random. Free and Pro use the same reward rules, and payment and mode do not change them. Outcomes depend on session length, the reward slot and confirmed Unbroken status; Honour sessions (without Screen Time) use the lowest heat and cannot be upgraded. Completed sessions of at least 15 minutes use up to four reward slots per forge day; a slot can give a new relic, an engraving or essence. The odds, slots, ladder guarantees and mend rules are in the app (Vault → Odds & rules).
- Changes. We announce changes to the odds or rules in the app at least 7 days before they apply. We never take away relics you own, and we never change the Ember Ladder or published guarantees retroactively.
- Mistakes. If a technical problem interrupts a session, Relix does not crack your relic attempt for it. We may correct an obvious technical error in a reward record, but we will not remove a relic you earned from a completed session.
- Losing data. Rewards live on your iPhone and in your optional backup. If you delete Relix without a backup or export, they cannot be recovered.
8Notifications
Relix sends the notifications you allow in iOS. For users aged 14–17, Relix sends no engagement or promotional notifications. Necessary notices, such as a session ending or a purchase update, may still be sent.
9Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Relix to monitor, restrict or control another person, or in a school, workplace or organisation;
- copy, modify, resell or distribute Relix, or reverse-engineer it except where the law allows;
- interfere with Relix, its purchases or its services, or try to get Pro without paying;
- use Relix in a way that breaks the law or Apple's rules.
10Your content
Intentions, titles and tags you write stay on your iPhone and in your optional backup. They are yours. If you share a share card or export, you are responsible for where you send it.
11Our rights
Relix, its design, art, relics and code belong to us or our licensors. These terms give you a limited, personal, revocable, non-transferable licence to use Relix on Apple devices you own or control, as Apple's Usage Rules allow (including Family Sharing where enabled).
12Changes to Relix and to these terms
- We update Relix to fix problems and improve it. We will not charge for features that do not exist yet, and we will not take away features you paid for while your purchase is active, except where the law, Apple or a platform change requires it.
- If we stop offering Relix or Pro, we will tell you in the app in advance where we can.
- We may change these terms. We publish changes on this page with a new date. If you do not agree, stop using Relix and cancel your subscription.
13Disclaimers
To the extent the law allows, Relix is provided "as is". We do not promise that Relix will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that blocking will always work (section 2).
Consumer guarantees. If you are a consumer in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Quebec or anywhere else with rights that cannot be excluded, those rights still apply. In Australia, our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
14Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows:
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for data you did not back up, or for loss caused by Apple's Screen Time system, iOS or your device settings;
- our total liability to you is limited to the greater of (a) what you paid for Relix in the 12 months before the claim, or, for a Lifetime purchase, its price, and (b) US$50.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
15Ending these terms
You can stop using Relix at any time. To stop paying, cancel through Apple (section 4.4). We may suspend or end your use if you seriously break these terms. Sections 7, 11, 13, 14 and 16 survive.
16Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws where you live, and you may bring a claim in your local courts. Please contact us first (section 18); we will try to resolve the issue within 30 days.

If Relix fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any). To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for Relix, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses from a warranty failure are our responsibility.
- Product claims. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to Relix, including product liability, failure to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and consumer-protection, privacy or similar claims.
